I have worked with children and teenagers for many years; focusing on helping to make positive changes during stressful times. This often includes adjusting to a divorce, relocation, loss of a loved one, re-adjusting after a trauma, balancing stress of school, dealing with being bullied, eating disorders, and many other challenges. Goals may include: building self-esteem, creating healthy social and family relationships, stress management, finding a healthy life balance, and enjoying life. Together I work towards identifying goals and creating an appropriate treatment plan.
Children and Teens
There is no limit to the stress that accompanies the responsibility of being an adult. Many times the stresses increase before changes can be made. We can work together to create a healthy life balance with managing stress, strengthening social/ intimate relationships, reducing work stress, and identifying positive coping skills to use when feeling overwhelmed.
I also have experience working with individuals that struggles with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Eating Disorders, Addiction, Bereavement, and many other related disorders.
Many stresses arise that often challenge the strength and resiliency of couples. Stresses may include children, job stress, intimacy, communication, differing priorities, financial, family relationships, and many others. I offer couples therapy in order to help reinforce your relationship, by building individual strengths to construct a strong foundation for each other. Together we will practice different ways of communicating by focusing on the core message, desired outcome, and ways of taking responsibility.
Family issues can stem from many different stressors, some known and some yet to be discovered. My goal is to work together with the family to determine what works well and areas that can be strengthen in order to build a stronger family unit.
